Congratulations to the Mahtomedi High School Boys Hockey, Class A State Champions!
The team's State tournament victory included a quarterfinal win against Alexandria (6-3), a semifinal win over Hermantown (2-1), and the championship win over Warroad (6-5) in double-overtime. Congratulations to Cav Bruner, Charlie Drage, and Corey Bohmert for being named to the 2023 Boys Hockey All-Tournament Class A Team. Congratulations to David Wolsfeld on being named the 2023 Class A Herb Brooks Award winner! The annual award is presented to a state tournament participant that strongly represents the values, characteristics, and traits that defined Herb Brooks.

State Champions Visit Youngest Fans
The Mahtomedi High School Boys Hockey Team, the 2023 Minnesota State High School League Class A State Champions, visited their youngest fans at Wildwood Elementary School and O.H. Anderson Elementary School (OHA). During the Champions Walk, the high school students walked through the schools and were greeted with cheers and high-fives from the students.
The elementary students greeted the Team with special posters and signs. Spotted on an OHA student’s poster, “Roses are red, Violets are Blue, Who Won the Championship? Yes, it’s you!” The high school students were even asked to sign autographs!Thank you to the players and coaches for sharing this special experience with our elementary students!
Three OHA students had siblings on the team and had the special opportunity to make the Champions Walk announcement and introduce their siblings to the school.
